My name is Remco Lakens. I am a web developer with over 10 years of experience and a completed bachelor's degree in Communication & Multimedia Design. During this study, you are trained as an Interaction Designer, acquiring all the essential skills to successfully bring concepts to life with a focus on the user. It's a broad study with many different aspects, but my passion lies in front-end development because it combines technology and creativity.
A bachelor's degree can cost quite a bit of money. While most students opt for a regular part-time job, I chose to start my own business as a freelance web developer. This was also my first introduction to the field of web development. After obtaining my bachelor's degree, I had to choose whether to continue with my own business or join an employer. As a freelancer, I often missed collaborating on projects, so I decided to start at IN10 as a front-end developer. Here, I further developed myself. However, after 2 years, I felt the need to delve more into e-commerce. This led me to Incentro, where I worked for over 3 years with great pleasure for various clients such as Leen Bakker, Wehkamp, and GrandVision. My next challenge was at Code in Delft, a company specialized in developing custom Shopify webshops for various clients. I helped them set up a new headless proposition, with the aim of developing an extensive theme with modular features that they could use as a starting point for new projects. Subsequently, after delivering this proposition, I joined my current employer, Lab Digital. Here, I work on various headless platforms that utilize the innovative MACH architecture. I derive a lot of joy and motivation from the challenges Lab Digital offers every day and always strive for solutions that satisfy the client.
Everything is now online; we are constantly connected via laptops, smartphones, and tablets in our world. It's only natural that the future of every business starts with a good website. As a specialist in web development, I can help you realize your digital solution.
I'm currently not available for new projects. Keep an eye on my LinkedIn profile to stay updated on my availability.
